Critique Greater Shreveport

	It is a very satisfying experience for any judge to have 5-point quality at a 3-point show. I would like to thank the GSDC of Greater Shreveport for the opportunity to judge such a show. The weather turned bright and shiny after a shaky start upon my arrival on Friday. Having spent the last 25 years in California, I'd forgotten how spectacular an electrical storm can be...scary, too! The hospitality was wonderful and the exhibitors courteous, all the elements of a successful show! 6-9 Puppy Dog - Best Puppy Tom's Hatchet of Elkins A nicely proportioned Blk\Tan male with an ease of gait to be appreciated at any speed. This is a promising young dog with a nice future ahead of him. 1st Open Dog - RWD- Vondars Holy Bull I like this dog. He did all I asked of him with an obvious willingness to please. He's rich in pigment and all male.... It was a pleasure judging him. 1st American Bred - WD- BOW Abraxas Promises of Gold This class was one of the best of the day. The standard states a German Shepherd dog should cover the most amount of ground with the least amount of effort. This dog typifies that request. His ease of movement was the deciding factor. He competed with other fine animals yet stood above the rest in gait, attitude, and resolve. He took a lickin' yet kept on tickin'! He's definitely all male with a fine future ahead of him. I would have taken this dog home. 1st 12-18 - RWB Tom's Glamor Girl of Elkins This class was another one rich in talent and quality. 3-4 deep.... The decision came hard and after I told the handlers it would be a class for 2 of the 3 bitches to lose, because they were all winners. Glamor Girl seemed to do the job with a tidge more ease of movement than her nearest competitor, Ben Jo's Encore Encore.If these 2 compete often, the pendulum will swing for both in no sure direction for either one. They're both lovely! 1st Open-WB Kelly Von Cypress Kelly is one of those bitches that catches your eye when she WALKS into the ring. She epitomizes the type and movement requested by the Standard. Her ease of gait is breathtaking. She went beautifully at any speed I requested. I adored her temperament and if I'd had 2 crates, I would have taken her home, too! BOS Ch. Abraxas Blaze of Glory This is an excellent young Special with a very Special career ahead of him. He is handsome, true in temperament, and can move with the wind. It was a very difficult decision between BOB and BOS but I love to be faced with that kind of choice. Watching this fine dog move around my ring was a joy. BOB Ch. Hoheneichen's Chanel I admit it...I've always loved this bitch. I picked her as a puppy to go far. She has proven me right. She is a superlative example of our breed, both in type and movement. She was unruly at first, but soon settled down and took the ring with such ease of motion and class, she could not be denied! Her owners were wise in showing her under me! So now I needed 3 crates! 6-9 Puppy Dog - Best Puppy Tom's Hatchet of Elkins

A nicely proportioned Blk\Tan male with an ease of gait to be appreciated at any speed. This is a promising young dog with a nice future ahead of him.

1st Open Dog - RWD- Vondars Holy Bull

BOS Ch. Abraxas Blaze of Glory

This is an excellent young Special with a very Special career ahead of him. He is handsome, true in temperament, and can move with the wind. It was a very difficult decision between BOB and BOS but I love to be faced with that kind of choice. Watching this fine dog move around my ring was a joy.

BOB Ch. Hoheneichen's Chanel

I admit it...I've always loved this bitch. I picked her as a puppy to go far. She has proven me right. She is a superlative example of our breed, both in type and movement. She was unruly at first, but soon settled down and took the ring with such ease of motion and class, she could not be denied! Her owners were wise in showing her under me! So now I needed 3 crates!
