The 31st Annual Fall Specialty Show of the Jersey Shore GSDC,
held at the beautiful Monmouth Battlefield State Park at
Freehold, New Jersey, was an event to remember.  The gorgeous
grounds, touched by the first paintbrush of fall, sparkled in the
brilliant sunshine under an azure October sky.  A large, level
ring provided the venue for display and evaluation of the nice
entry of good quality dogs.  The excellent management and superb
hospitality of the host club made the event both pleasant and
rewarding.  I especially enjoyed the outstanding sportsmanship of
the exhibitors and the professional competence of the handlers.
On the down side, more attention should be paid to the
socialization and training of the dogs being shown, as several
examples of extreme hesitance led to otherwise excellent dogs
being penalized, short of excusal.  One dog required excusal - always a disappointment to the owner and the judge.

WINNERS DOG AND BEST OF WINNERS went to WOODHAVENS DARTH VADER
a medium sized, well balanced, black dog whose harmonious
masculinity, and powerful, extended gait displayed his high
quality in a most pleasing fashion.

RESERVE AND BEST OPPOSITE PUPPY went to the 9 - 12 Puppy Dog SINCA'S STARGAZER
a handsome, harmonious, medium sized, balanced youngster, whose outstandingly consistent, outreaching gait made the choice of winner difficult.  It is to be hoped that additional maturity will lead to increased substance and more pronounced secondary sex characteristics to compliment his outstanding harmony and movement.

WINNERS BITCH to the gorgeous black & tan RALLYN'S QUESTA OF BIHARI'S
whose consistently beautiful gait set off her clean, efficient, harmonious lines to very best advantage.  Beautiful posed, she maintains her appealing silhouette while gaited at all speeds on loose lead as well as in full speed movement.  Her attractive headpiece and dark eyes, combined with perfect ear set
immediately demand attention.  A slightly longer croup would be
desired.

RESERVE to the 12 - 18 bitch  MYJOY'S GLAMOUR GIRL
a very appropriately named young lady.  A exemplanary topline, carried at all speeds, combined with a powerful, extended gait,
attractive color and beautiful expression make her one which  with a bit more consistency of performance  can be expected to excel.

BEST OF BREED to CHAMPION AMBER'S SKYE
a bitch combining beauty of breed type and movement in a way seldom equalled.  Clean on both ends, firm back and absolutely correct layon of shoulder let her glide along with correctly outstretched neck, feet close to the ground even at fullest extension.  Although starting into the seasonal coat change, she maintains her attractive color, presenting a picture impossible to ignore.

BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX to CHAMPION WOODHAVEN'S TALL, DARK AND HANDSOME a free moving, impressive male, with harmonious balance of secondary sex characteristics, topline and movement which make him a pleasure to watch.  He is correct from all angles.

BEST PUPPY to HERITAGE WINDY ACRE'S CHELSEA
an above midsize black & tan bitch whose firm back, excellent angulation and beautiful lay on allow her to present an exemplanary gait outreaching, yet close to the ground, with grace and power to
spare.  It is easy to forecast a glowing future for this young lady.
